Our upgraded kennels feature:

  • Insulated separate sleeping area
  • Raised trampoline beds
  • Fully insulated day runs attached to sleeping area, which keep your dog cool in summer and warm and dry in winter
  • Exercise yards, both large and small depending on the size of the dog
  • New fencing in the kennel blocks
  • Our kennel sizes easily accommodate two large dogs, and the sleeping quarters are big enough for 2 beds.
  • Piped music to the kennels.
  • Security lighting

Each kennel and day yard is cleaned thoroughly with disinfectant at least once a day, to ensure they are kept spotless. The size of the day yard means that they don’t have to wait for someone to let them out to go to the bathroom. Each dog is given time in the exercise yards morning and afternoon weather permitting allowing them to romp to their hearts content.

We feed a balanced diet of Royal Canin and fresh chicken mince once a day, but are happy to accommodate those dogs that have their own dietary requirements at no extra cost. We administer oral and surface medication at no cost. Our canine crockery is stainless steel and washed thoroughly, in our kennel kitchen after each meal.

You are welcome to bring your own blankets, bed or toys, but we do have all of these available here. If your dog stays 3 nights or more we give them a free fidos flea and tick bath. Each dog is brushed and sprayed with dog cologne before leaving the kennel.

All dogs are required to have a current C5 vaccination which must be sighted by our staff before we admit your dog. We also require that all dogs and cats have current flea protection at all times and paralysis tick protection. These items are available from the office for an additional fee. We are not in a known tick area, but for your animals wellbeing as the come from outside the area, we require this to protect all our guests.

We will ask you to complete our Questionnaire upon arrival so we can make your pets stay as enjoyable as possible.

Our youngest client is 3 months, and our oldest is 17 years old. So we can cater for all ages. Our smallest client is a Chihuahua and our largest is a wolf hound, and all sizes in between. We do accept entire male dogs as long as they are good tempered. Sorry we cannot accept bitches in season. We can accommodate your pets for either a short or long stay. From a few days through to weeks, or in between, your pets are most welcome at Fido’s Lodge.
